Current 2006
The band is currently in the studio working hard to get their third
CD completed. The new CD is called the scoldees AS OPPOSED TO WHAT,
and it will be 12 or 14 of some of the best tunes the band has
written to date. They will be throwing a couple of demos of the
songs onto our RAW TUNAGE section, so look for the finished and raw
versions of Sands To Pearl, Someday, and Illustrate Me. There aren’t
many gigs to report, as the band spent a year writing, and now close
to a year recording, the new material for CD#3.

June 2006
Nancy co-produces the Equity showcase production of a new musical
called La Gioconda at Theatre Row on 42nd Street, NYC. It is the
story of Lisa Gioconda, known to the world as Mona Lisa, and her
relationship with Leonardo Da Vinci. Starring Megan McGinnis (Belle
in Beauty and the Beast on Broadway), and Lewis Cleale (just cast as
the next Lancelot in Broadway’s Spamalot), the play was very well
received and hopeful of backing for a pre-Broadway out-of-town run.

May 2006
Nancy, Jack and JC, the songwriting team of the scoldees,
high-tailed it to Amsterdam, The Netherlands, where they performed a
showcase for their publisher, world-renowned Fintage Music. They
played two gigs in Leiden, one for the public at Café de twee
Spieghels (The Two Mirrors), and then a completely unplugged,
up-close and very personal showcase for Fintage employees and
associates. The new songs went over extremely well, and the pressure
is certainly on to complete CD#3! Holed-up at the spectacular and
very friendly Hotel Vondel, the trio also performed on the streets
in Amsterdam, taking beer breaks when they had earned enough for a
round or two. It was really fun, and they hope to go back very soon.

Nancy says, “The art on the wall was a bit off the wall, but
actually very watchable. My favorite piece of art on the floor? Baby
Michael Jackson and baby Charles Manson reaching out to each other,
perhaps to play?”
