Every retailer is a different deal. iTunes is the highest payer at .65c although this is expected to drop in the future. The Napster and Rhapsody business models are good and are based on a Pay $9.95 a month for all you can eat type deal. This allows you to stream any content you want from their library and if you want you can elect to pay for the track at their agreed rates. This is where you get these stream rates of .01c a track. The license is different and treated more as a broadcast in terms of the BMI - APRA rules hence the lower rates. If you have a very popular track then at least you are getting paid via a legally recognised major brand.
