During 1997 we needed such a great deal of work on our ground, and especially welding. Tony Fairall seemed to have a welder built onto his arm. Every time you saw him he was welding something. His efforts helped to make our ground one of the best.

As the President of Ryde Hornsby Juniors for three years, he was instrumental in the District teams becoming known as the “Hawks” bringing a feeling of belonging to our top jumiors knowing they were part of the Major League club. Stuart also, as a member of the NSWBL Executive, led the way for Ryde Hornsby to cut ties with the old NSWJBL and become such a stronger organisation. He also was responsible for the establishment of the Hawks Baseball, Academy.
2005 -
Luis Almenara and Paul Cooke worked tirelessly on major restoration to our ground at ELS Hall, Kent Road. After several seasons without a major maintenance effort, Luis and Paul brought the ground to its best condition in years. Not only with the labour component, but also dealing with the Ryde Council, electrical contractors to improve the lighting, plus attending to the ground preparation during the regular season all home games and the mid week ML games. Luis and Paul also attended a very successful NSWBL Major League All Star Day. The work and commitments lifted the stance and prestige with top class facilities to a very successful year in the playing field. An honour very well merited.
